Carried Away

In peaceful still he saw her, at home amongst the trees
His heart at once was stolen, as she danced in the falling leaves.
He smiled and then their eyes met, and the trees sang love's sweet song
She knew that for forever, she'd found where she belonged.

And he carried her away, away, he carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, he carried her away.

In love's embrace he saw her, resting in his arms
He vowed with all within him, to keep her safe from harm.
She held him close against her, with hearts and souls entwined,
She swore with all her being, she'd never leave his side.

And he carried her away, away, he carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, he carried her away.

But leave his side she did one day,to walk among the trees,
And evil hands were waiting, hidden in the falling leaves.
Softness broken easily with sweeping, stabbing strikes,
They left her robbed and bleeding, as rain fell from the skies.

And they carried her away, away, they carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, they carried her away.

In deathly still he saw her, laying near the trees,
His heart at once stopped beating, as she bled in the falling leaves.
He cried and then their eyes met, and the trees sang a mournful song,
He knew that for forever, this was not where she belonged.

And they carried her away, away, they carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, they carried her away.

In love's embrace he saw her, resting in his arms,
He vowed with all within him,to find who'd done her harm.
He held her close against him, and felt her soul unbind,
She said her last "I love you", then slowly closed her eyes.

And he carried her away, away, he carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, he carried her away.

In peaceful still he saw her, laid beneath the trees,
His heart at once was broken, as he wept in the falling leaves.
He smiled and reached to touch her,  the forest hushed its song,
And he knew that for forever, she was back where she belonged.

And they carried her away, away, they carried her away,
Her spirit found its home once more, they carried her away.
