The Sun and The Sky

She rises golden, resplendent, glorious.
Dawn follows her gaze as she wakes to survey all that is hers.
Though touched by whispers on the wind and dampened dewdrop tears,
In majesty her solitude is marked by passing years.

She rules with flaming scepter, powerful, wise.
The moon bows in her presence flinging stars to the heavens to bid her good rest.
A blanket made of midnight velvet and pillow clouds beneath her head,
Her lonely slumber gives no rest but a burning ache instead.

She lashes out in desert sands, ferocious, unforgiving, searing.
Storms rage on behalf of her heart with lightening streaks and booming thunder.
Though flowers rise in joyous chorus, anthems sung in springtime blooms,
A heavy heart beats deep inside where winter's shadow looms.

He waits in patience, stoic, calm.
His reach finds every corner of being, wrapping it in azure.
Though countenance made bruised by lurid purple dusk,
Every wound fades once again with the heat of just one touch.

He speaks with eloquence, commanding, sure.
The whole of the world beneath his watchful gaze trembles.
The vast canvas of his soul with celestial bodies painted,
His heart contains the whole of all that ever was created.

He soothes with gentle summer rains, soft, cool, refreshing.
Winds usher forth with winter's snow leaving his face pale and drawn.
In imperfection the cold becomes his shield against her sorrow,
But then with her rising warmth, there is a new tomorrow.

A voice. In windy, whispering tones. From everywhere and nowhere at once. Hidden.

"How I ache to bring you comfort. My heartbeats rise and fall with your every smile and tear."

"Who are you? Where are you? Why can't I find you?"

"I am touchable only by few, to others, a distance they may merely gaze upon. I have waited these years, watched you, sent rain when you seemed thirsty, railed with storms to hear you cry, sent the caress of softest clouds across your face so that you would know you were beloved, and covered you with darkness so that you could rest. How I've longed for you to notice me, know me, take pleasure in my embrace, to feel you hot and blazing against me, knowing you know I'm there."

"Show yourself to me.. tell me your name.. please.. I can bear it no more."

A sigh of winds sends clouds tumbling, parting, gone.
The brightness of noon time sun washes the heavens with vivid blue.
"A canvas for your fiery beauty, content to shine only in your eyes,
I am where I have always been and will ever be, Your Sky."
